How & When BlackJack Started

As with many other games, no one knows exactly the origin of Blackjack. Most agree it was introduced in French casinos in around 1700, where it was known as "Vingt-et-Un", which is french for Twenty-one.

Most believe that BlackJack is a variation of Baccarat, as the object of the game is somewhat similar, which is to add up the cards in your hand.

Another of its version called “Trente-un”, meaning Thirty-one was prevalent in Spain. The basic rule of the game was to reach a total of 31 with a minimum of three cards.

One of the popular theories states that the BlackJack was invented by the Romans. They would play this game with wooden blocks with numbers scribbled on them. All historians agree that the Romans loved gambling but that doesn’t confirm the theory in any way.

Among the various versions of the game, popularity of Vingt-et-Un’ or ‘21’ continued to grow. It gradually began popping up in North America thanks to French colonists and soon after it was widely played throughout the continent. The rules of Blackjack were quite different back then. For instance, only the dealer was allowed to double down. Also, a betting round was there after every single card that was dealt...Know More Here- How & When BlackJack Started

Does Skill Work While Playing The Game Of Blackjack ?

Blackjack is a good example of a game where skill can play an important role. While the shuffling of the cards produces a random deal, there’s still some element of decision-making that can affect a player’s results. Players who make good decisions will have better results over time than those who make bad choices in how they play their cards. Two strategies that some blackjack players use in an effort to maximize their results are explored below:

Basic Strategy in Blackjack: Blackjack is one of the very few casino games in which players can minimise the house advantage they face by using what is known as the “basic strategy.” The basic strategy is a set of rules that tells players the statistically, the best way to play a hand based on two factors – the up card of the dealer and their own cards. The basic strategy doesn’t ensure a player will win every hand. Although using the basic strategy, does give a player the best possible chance of winning and will help minimise the cost of play in the long run. Remember, using basic strategy does not eliminate the house advantage – it merely minimises it. Many casinos actually distribute basic strategy cards that players can use while they are playing. During a hand, players can also ask the dealer what decision they should make (hit, stand, etc.) based on blackjack strategy…Read full blog post here- Does Skill Work While Playing The Game Of Blackjack ?

Set the Balance Straight

                                                               I'm wishing for a joker

To turn the tables for me

That even though it's based on luck

As the cards are shuffled thoroughly

I focus on making a pure sequence

As it can either make or break a game

I play for long with a smart strategy

To receive more points in return

I keep an eye on my opponent’s playing style

And the cards he discards,

I attempt to hazard a guess

what combinations he’s is trying to make

I think I have those cards

Which might help him declare his meld

But I won't lose out on those cards

As I'm determined to win this game

I'm proud of my uncanny skills

That I picked-up in demo classes

It helped me hone my skills and learn some intelligent tactics

To beat my opponents at their own game.

I'm not too attached to high cards

And hold mid-value cards close,

As they have higher probability of making up more combinations

When I play with care

The cards that I discard

sometimes I want it back

But you gotta deal with what you've got

You can't screw with the plot

Don’t worry if you threw away an Ace

The next card could be your saving Grace,

So take a closer look, mate

And get your name in every Rummy record book.
